This lesson plan is designed for grades 9-12 or any high school equivalent course. This specific lesson plan I designed is for one class period and its context is the confederacy during the Civil War. This teaches students which states seceded and when they seceded. Also this lesson plan teaches students who the president of the newly seceded states was and when he was inaugurated. This is important for students to understand because this leads into the only civil war America has ever had, this is a huge building block in American History.

I wouldn't say I ran into any problems when making this lesson plan just took some time to get used to the program and learning how to use it correctly. This is the coolest program we have used all semester and I thoroughly enjoyed that we had the opportunity to use and get acquainted with SMART notebook.

I think using SMART notebook in the classroom is a very good idea especially because it engages students more and gets them more into learning and especially the certain activity or lesson plan that the SMART notebook is designed for. The main concern I have is that every school probably does not have access to such advanced technology but with time I am sure it will become a part of the teaching and learning norm.

My personal comfort level with this program is still a little low but it definitely grew with more and more practice. All of the tutorials were very helpful and I used them all to familiarize myself with the program. As i use it more and more my comfort for it will grow , like anything as of right now though, on a scale of 1-10. I am at a 7.
